Whip Up Wednesday: DIY Beaded Cardigan

Raise your hand if you have about 25 cardigans bursting through the doors of your closet? Here's a quick and easy way to bedazzle a plain, tired sweater this winter...

Here's what you need:

-boring old cardigan
-safety pins (I used size "2")
-various small glass or seed beads

The versatility and changeability of the outcome is my favorite part of this project!

First you need to get a vision for where you would like your beads to be. A fun pattern around the collar works, or a simple shape off to one side (like mine). To form a line of beads, poke safety pin up from the backside of garment and load with beads. Stick back through garment and secure. I played around with many designs, but decided on a simple star burst shape, which involved 8 safety pins containing three beads each. Which shape or pattern would you make?

This post is the first in a new series on Swoon called Whip Up Wednesday, a weekly post all about simple and pretty projects that can be done in a few hours or less. Three cheers for more making in 2014!
